Would you like to participate in a study group to help you complete a CPCU or other insurance exam?
Groups are now forming all the time!
We have volunteers to cover almost any section of CPCU for which the candidates would like to form a Study Group. The Study Group is lead by a CPCU who has volunteered to lead the group and obtain answer to any questions they may have. The Study Group usually meets on a weekly basis for a period of 12 to 15 weeks, depending on the number of sections in that particular module. We only offer Study groups in the downtown area and usually meet early in the a.m. or at lunch time. The times and dates are selected by the members of the Study Group.
We also have volunteers who are willing to host a 1/2 or 1 whole day Review Session prior to the close of the testing window. This would be a review session to discuss any items that are unclear to the group and review all the learning objectives.
Additionally the Chapter offers a testing site in the Willis Tower. The test center is named WIL48.
For more information, please contact Georgia Kevan, CPCU either by email or at 312-454-4250.

It’s time to “Spread the Word!” about your CPCU designation!
These tips will help you increase awareness of your designation and launch your participation in the “Spread the Word!” campaign. Don’t forget—by “Spreading the Word!” you are increasing awareness of the attributes of your CPCU designation—commitment to ethics, relevant insurance experience, and practical insurance knowledge. Being a CPCU sets you apart in the P/C insurance industry!
TIP Include “CPCU” after your name. Use your CPCU letters after your name in all business correspondence—it is an official part of your name! This is a simple way to let others know you are a CPCU. Remember to update your business card to include your CPCU designation.
TIP Use technology to “Spread the Word!” with CPCU CD-ROMs. The CPCU CD-ROM includes a brief presentation about the value of the CPCU designation. See your free enclosed sample. This tool is great for presentations or include a copy in mailings. Send an e-mail to visibility@cpcusociety.org for more information on how to order a supply of CPCU CD-ROMs.
TIP Write a message about CPCU in your e-mail signature. Update your e-mail signature with a quick note about your CPCU designation. Consider listing one of the following messages after your contact information, or create your own:
· Ask me about my CPCU designation!
· I just earned my CPCU designation—visit www.cpcusociety.org to learn more about it!
· Want to learn more about my CPCU designation? Visit www.cpcusociety.org.
· What’s a CPCU? Visit www.cpcusociety.org to find out!
· CPCU—delivering insurance excellence: ethics, experience, and education
TIP Hand out CPCU pocket cards or “Why Choose a CPCU?” brochures—two FREE “Spread the Word!” resources for Society members! These attractive, easy-to-use communications tools include background information about the value of the CPCU designation. See the samples enclosed in this kit. Include these free “Spread the Word!” tools in mailings, hand a CPCU pocket card out with your business card, leave some on your desk, or keep a supply handy for impromptu discussions about CPCU. Order a supply by calling Mary Drager, (800) 932-CPCU, ext. 2752, or send an e-mail to Mary Drager.
TIP Use the “Spread the Word!” luggage tag. Look inside this kit for your “Spread the Word!” luggage tag, a great way to initiate conversations about CPCU. Slip in your business card and use it when you travel, or attach it to your briefcase or laptop bag. Some Society members even use the tag as a badge carrier at their workplace.
TIP Talk About CPCU. There is no easier way to “Spread the Word!” than to talk about the value of the CPCU designation. Educate people in your professional world—your employer, clients, and co-workers. In addition, talk to friends, neighbors, and family members. Everyone can benefit from knowing what your CPCU designation is all about: education, ethics, and experience.
